PMC-Sierra's networking-chip strategy lifts earnings semibiznews.com PMC-Sierra's strong results demonstrate the strength of the entire networking market, which is being driven by increasing Internet adoption and demand for networking components from both the consumer and corporate markets. The high profit margin within the industry is also giving a boost to networking chip manufacturers. PMC-Sierra's gross margin during the third quarter improved to 79%, from 76% in the comparable 1998 quarter. Regards JC.
