IRVINE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 5, 1999--STM Wireless Inc. (STM) (Nasdaq:STMI) today announced an agreement with Harmonic Data Systems Inc. (HDS), a subsidiary of Harmonic Inc. (Nasdaq: HLIT), to provide a two-way broadband product portfolio that combines STM's SpaceWeb VSAT system with HDS's CyberStream(TM) IP over DVB/S MPEG-2 broadband technology.

Emil Youssefzadeh, Chief Executive Officer of STM, stated, "We believe that by combining HDS's CyberStream Enterprise system with STM's portfolio of two-way VSAT technology, we can offer a family of high-performance two-way broadband products that can be used for a variety of applications."
David Price, HDS's Vice President of Business Development, stated, "The demand for low-cost, high-performance two-way broadband IP products is growing both in the US and overseas.
