Robert, I know you were joking about the publicity stunt thing, but, yes, I, too, was laughing just thinking about it. For the record, just in case, no it's not a publicity stunt by ALYD, but that's not to say we shareholders can't use it as one ;^).
Short term there just might be some nervous selling. (There are a number of traders on the Stock Swap thread who would love to see another eyeblink ALYD dip and recovery (gg)). But in the crowded field of Y2K, brand recognition could make or break you.
I can just hear it now:
"So, who do you know can get us out of this Y2K mess?"
"Well, there's IBM of course, Cap Gemini, EDS, Keane, and that little company that was named after a horse... Alydaar, I think."
"Wasn't Alydaar the one involved in that big lawsuit?"
"Yes, yes. That's the one. Both sides alleging all sorts of things. I'm really curious to see for myself how they compare to the big guys. Can't hurt to send them some code. Worst that can happen is we just say 'thank you' and hire IBM."
Hey, a foot in the door is a foot in the door.
