The market is so bad with no hope of recovery in the foreseeable future that Bear Sterns will do anything to avoid taking on ownership of these inflated pigs.


Assuming that they packaged and sold the loans, they are stalling until after the put back period ends and they are off the hook. I doubt that they hold but a small per cent of the paper or any at all.
