WAVO Corporation Announces Partnerships with Leading Media Providers for MediaXpress Content Delivery Service

PHOENIX, Sep 27, 2000 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- WAVO Corporation (Nasdaq: WAVO chart, msgs) today announced partnerships with several leading media providers, resulting in the availability of content from hundreds of new sources through the company's MediaXpress service.

MediaXpress is an industry-leading provider of real-time, targeted news, entertainment, weather and sports content to Web sites, corporate intranets and extranets worldwide. MediaXpress offers two content delivery services, MediaXpress "Connect" and MediaXpress "Select".

MediaXpress Select enables customers to choose content from specific media providers who offer the exact type of content they need, to be delivered to their Web site, intranet or extranet. New content partners included in the MediaXpress Select service include AFX, American Banker, Knight-Ridder Tribune, M2 Presswire, Post Newsweek NewsBytes, Phillips, PrimeZone Media, RX/Remedy, S & P Comstock, US Newswire, U-Wire and ZD Net.

"Through these partnerships, news from hundreds of media sources have been added to MediaXpress," said Scott E. Roulet, Senior Vice President and General Manager of MediaXpress. "We can now offer local, national and international news, in multiple languages, stock quotes and content on virtually every subject or industry including, sports, health and entertainment, providing a massive content base for MediaXpress customers to choose from."

"AFX is very excited to be working with MediaXpress," said Graham Parry, Business Director, AFX News Ltd, which provides MediaXpress with news covering UK, Europe and Asia. "This partnership makes it easy for us to distribute our multi-lingual financial and economic news services to new markets around the world, to existing clients utilizing XML formatting on intranet and e-business systems, and to our clients requiring non-XML formats. Our early takers of the feed have been very pleased with the results."

In addition, MediaXpress Connect service, which aggregates thousands of stories daily from leading news sources, has been enhanced with the addition of M2 Presswire and US Newswire. Customers select up to five of 31 standard categories and receive an unlimited number of stories within those categories for only $500 per month. Sports, weather and daily top headlines are also included at no additional charge. "MediaXpress Connect offers the most cost-effective content solution in the marketplace based on the low monthly charge and the breadth of content available," added Roulet.
