Consumer Electronics Exec Blasts Bailouts The CEO of the Consumer Electronics Association, Gary Shapiro, says it's not the government's job to say 'You win. He indicated the support to the auto and banking companies was part of a disturbing trend of society doing all it can to mask or prevent failure. "We don't even let our kids fail when they don't keep score in soccer games." He also blasted Congress for its handling of the stimulus package. "In this age of transparency there was zero. It was a compendium of pork with a lot of it going to help balance state budgets. But what will happen in two years when that money is spent? We're setting up a dangerous cycle of dependency," he said.
