No country has a God-given right to American taxpayer dollars, not even Poland. Make no mistake, they want the American missile shield for the jobs it will bring and the standing it will bring them in NATO. The only reason why we need a missile shield there is to guard against the Middle East, and Iran in particular.

Instead of spending billions irresponsibly on missile shields, why don't we take that money and become independent of oil. And in the bargain, tell Russia we'll only scrap it, if they immediately halt all work on Iranian nuclear facilities and stop shipments of all supplies to them. Those are concrete steps we should take that won't cost the US taxpayer more money on defending the world.

We need to stop being the world's cop. If the Europeans don't want to help with the global economic recovery, maybe they should help by building their own damn missile shield with their own damn money.
