Are you sure about that? Because if that is true, we are screwing up badly. However, I don’t see how torturing them would improve the situation for us.

Yep.. I'm positive. People we detained and sent to Abu G and Bucca were being released within months due to lack of prosecution by the Iraqi government.

And then we'd catch them again down the line in another raid.

There is a certain kind of nobility a soldier may (or may not) possess regardless of which cause or side of an issue they may be defending.

There is nothing "honorable" about having to kill one's fellow man.. only justifications we tell ourselves for the necessity of having to do it. Just my opinion.

You seem to be saying it is ok to target an innocent person to bring harm to your enemy… That is IMO the definition of a terrorist. At what point would you say we have become what we started out to stand against?

Don't know where you got that idea from my post. It's just the opposite, in fact. I think it's ok to target a terrorist (and/or his immediate family) if we are positive that he's involved in targeting other innocent civilians.

I believe in Quid Pro Quo. It's the only "language" the terrorist understands. They'll stop committing terrorist acts when they understand that people who are close to them will suffer the same fate.

We can call a terrorist's family "innocent", but if the wife is aware of her spouse's activities, how can she escape being guilty of the same activities?

Again.. very tough questions..
