We agree on that, what we call or ascribe to ourselves in general as consciousness could be more likened to waking sleep & still emergent. Here is a road collectively we have many more miles to go down. Animals certainly possess amazing faculties & consciousnes, its pure foolishness to pretend they dont.

Fortunately for all the quantum flux of matter & energy combines to offer a very stubborn & persistent medium for us to participate in. I think what Ramesh is saying, like Einstein is the belief in the comprehension of reality through somethings basically simple & unified. It is up to us to immerse ourselves & participate in artfully, thats miracle enough, as brumar said its an amzing world. (he's turning Pantheist little by little ;0) )
