I don't think that anything terribly sophisticated is required to get the correct prices listed on the shelves. It only requires attention IMO.

I worked at a grocery store in high school 10 yrs ago, and we had a system that would simply print out new shelf stickers for all the items that had a price change. Normally this was weekly. One of us would have to take about an hour going around the store and replacing the out of date price stickers on the shelves.

Either that, or put price scanners around the stores where customers can scan the items to determine price.
