Thanks for your svc Don. Your post triggered a fond memory. We had just arrived in Shannon Airport in 1993 to celebrate an anniversary. Suddenly the place filled with US troops - coincidentally Pres Clinton at the time had become embroiled in a flareup in hostilities in No Ireland. We were really puzzled - could not understand why US troops were in Irl, so I stopped one of them and asked. "What the heck are you doing in Irl?" - he replied "We're on our way home from Somalia." That explained it and we tried to personally thank as many of them as possible - in fact many in our group stood and applauded as they walked by us. Great moment.
