Joan, I was neither condemning nor praising the effort. But simply correcting Nihil's post tallying up body bags.

I'm still astonished by how little press coverage the horrible tragedy received in Somalia.

Prior to Bush moving troops in 350 people a day were dying. I would imagine, although I have seen very few reports, that the situation is much better today. Success? Overall yes, I believe it was a successful mission. And worthy of sending our troops. However, it's unfortunate we elected to turn over command to the U.N. when we did, and put our troops in peril. IMO we are far too quick to turn over command structures to U.N leaders who (for the most part), grossly lack the level of training and knowledge our own military leaders have.
