The announced missile deployment isn't some welfare program for Poland and Czechia, its a matter of NATO's defense. Maybe meeting NATO defense commitments isn't part of O's "smart diplomacy". Does not being "the world's cop" mean dropping out of NATO? If so, then advocate doing that and not just gripe about a particular commitment .

Instead of spending billions irresponsibly on missile shields, why don't we take that money and become independent of oil.

Since you have admitted we won't ever be completely independent of oil and your goal is only to be free of foreign oil in the long term, which will itself also take many decades to achieve at best, why are you pretending that "get independent of oil" is a smart response to an IMMEDIATE problem - Iran's developing of nuclear weapons and long range missiles within a year or a few years? The Iranian issue won't wait for 50 yrs.

As for missile defense being irresponsible, why is it? Will it still be irresponsible when NK and Iran and VZ have missiles that can hit our homeland?

And in the bargain, tell Russia we'll only scrap it, if they immediately halt all work on Iranian nuclear facilities and stop shipments of all supplies to them. Those are concrete steps we should take that won't cost the US taxpayer more money on defending the world.

I guess you aren't aware that the Obama administration made that proposal to Russia secretly and Russia responded by publicly rejecting the "secret" proposal and releasing the "secret" letter (to embarrass and alienate Poland, Czechia, and other EE countries).
