And as many people have pointed out to you, employment does lag in a recovery. This 10% decline started after the last jobs report when Challenger Gray and Christmas pointed out (correctly I might add) that we aren't going to add jobs this go-round (in the US). What the market makes of that is anyone's guess. Doesn't look like it likes it. As far as housing price inflation goes, rents are declining in some areas where housing prices are rising so that would need to be factored in also. The bubble wasn't normal, but the early 90s were no bubble and this market is no early 90s market.
