Anyone think Viterbi actually said this!

GLOBES: DSPC of Israel, recently acquired by Intel,
also operated in the CDMA field.

AV: "I don't think they really succeeded in getting off
the ground in that field. They had one CDMA
customer in Japan, which switched to us. Also,
DSPC is a weak company. Companies like
Nokia and Motorola manufactured their own
chips, but recently, they realised that they have
no choice, and Motorola started purchasing
large quantities of chips from us".

DSPC (now part of Intel) has the best Stack software in the industry.
QCOM could learn more than a thing or two from them.

DSPC are also more of a threat these days, since they have opened shop in Sorrento valley, and have been busy recruiting ASIC talent, principally from LSI and QCOM.

w. (I don't work for them.)
