Jim - A gap is a discontinuity in stock price. In Sept with expectations of greatly improved earnings intc gapped from about 88 to about 92. Sometimes these gaps are never filled. But my experience tells me they are filled most, but not all, of the time. What will cause it? I dont know. A way of protecting against this if one owns intc stock is to buy put options. A way of speculating on this scenario is also to buy put options. The April 120 puts are about 7.5. This is just my opinion. You should do your own research and arrive at your own conclusion. Gary
