you keep the blue chips and dump the rest...except for the takeover plays of course....

You buy good companies, large cap, mid cap, small cap. Leave the takeover plays to gamblers, and diversify enough that if you don't end up living next door to Billy G., you also don't end up in the gutter.

If you've been investing for more than a decade, you develop a healthy respect for the term "Bear Market".

Wasn't it Willie Nelson who said "Nothing lasts forever 'cept old Fords and a natural stone"?
