In so doing, software written to the standard will not run on Windows whereas software written with Microsoft's tools will run on nothing but Windows. Microsoft doesn't give a damn about customer choice. Wouldn't software written to standards run on windows as long as a 'standards' JVM is used? Wouldn't this be what the Activator would do? I know MS would not support RMI and some other important aspect of java (don't recall what it is).. would RMI etc code not run on windows for that reason? comments?
