This particular friend and I once spent a paralytic (with laughter) evening collecting all the colorful collateral terms for "vomit". There were some doozies. Personal favorites: blow chunks. Rainbow yawn. Solid speech. Take the big spit. Pray to the porcelain god. Soooo... I conclude that this friend has a lively interest in the frontiers of our language. What got this topic started was the delightful German phrase denoting a homosexual preference: "vom anderen Ufer", poorly transliterated: "from the other shore/side of the river". Polite yet evocative.
