I was trying to find the last round of data on AMD market share by segment. I thought it was for the 2Q00 and 2Q01 and was included in a .pdf (but I didn't grab it) or some presentation. I did find an interesting slide of AMD's retail notebook market share on page 4 of this document: amd.com Estimated values from chart (AMD share): April - 1% (AMD Duron notebooks introduced) May - 7% (Athlon 4 notebooks introduced) June - 14% (widespread availability) July - 28% August - 29% September - 27% So... AMD did hit bottom (1%) but had a larger share than I thought (25%) at the time of the end of year goal of 50%. It would have been interesting if AMD had included some more history to see how the K6 fared in this market. If someone could help locate the prior market share by segment data it would be interesting to see how it compares with the Gartner data. -PT
