jem: Yongzhi's post on his experience with GlobalFix 2000 told me what I wanted to know. The product is a hardware fix. It doesn't attempt to fix software.

All the rest of the issues with the product are just iterations of the same points discussed elsewhere many times. Everything I had to say about the product I said in my one and only post regarding it. If Yongzhi had tested other products and could do a feature for feature comparison, then I would have had plenty of questions for him. But, this is the only Y2K product he has tested. Anything I ask him wouldn't be fair because he has insufficient background to comment as a knowledgeable source. I didn't want to put him on the spot.

Yongzhi's understanding of my comments regarding the multiple boot requirement is correct. I don't think it's necessary, but I also don't think it's a strong deterrent. It's more of an irritation. Ztect thinks it's a major screwup. Yongzhi, on the other hand, thinks it's a benefit to provide the capability as an option. Perhaps it is. From Yongzhi's post, it sounded to me like it was not presented as an option. If it's a requirement, then I think it's a negative. If it is indeed presented as an "option", how is a technically challenged end user going to know whether or not to choose that option? Presentation is key.

By the way, ztect and I have had strong disagreements with each other on other threads. Please don't consider us a team on this thread. I respect his opinions, and he respects mine. That's as far as it goes.

Now, please refrain from categorizing me as a bad guy. I'm neutral.

Regards,

TED
