Good point. The only way something like that could happen is if someone with multiple fabs gets involved in the market and dedicates them to x86 processors. If AMD could ramp Dresden quickly, that is the closest you would get to a competitor. Apart from that, I can't see who would dedicate all those wafers to x86 and capture 30% unit share. $ share is more important and that is why AMD is still dangerous, despite sucking wind.
