I am looking at a company that is planning to do dump leach first (about 65% recovery) instead of heap leach which lab tests show about 90% recovery.

If a you do dump leach first, is it reasonable to expect that some day down the road the tailing from the dump leach can be reprocessed, maybe running the tailings through a mill and heap leaching to get more the gold left in the tailings?

Just a general question. But it strikes me that a quick and cheap dump leach initially gets you a cash flow and then you can reprocess tailings later when you have more infrastructure.

TIA.
