SMC Sells Most Of Its Networking Business, Again

For the second time in two years Standard Microsystems Corp. has
sold part of its internetworking business--this time to Accton
Technology.

Murrah said that the new company will not try to compete with
the big switch companies such as 3Com, but will concentrate
on smaller second-tier competitors that sell through the
distributors, such as Microdyne and Allied Telesis.
