That chart has an assumption, which is a bald-faced lie. This year's budget deficit has been inherited in large part from Bush. Remember much of the deficit came from Secretary Paulson, a Bush appointee, and all the bailouts he started. In addition, Bush used to hide the costs of war in Iraq and Afghanistan by not putting it on the Budget. Obama doesn't hide anything. He puts all expenditures in the budget. So the $1.7 trillion deficit that Obama is starting with came from Bush. So Obama's plan is to whittle that down over his tenure.

Another thing. Bush never projected beyond 5 years. You know why? Because he knew entitlement spending from healthcare, social security, etc was about to balloon and it would make him look bad. So he did some sleight of hand.

Congratulation on continuing to confirm for all of us your bias. Bias is euphemistic. Actually, you are being downright dishonest. It seems GOP members have selective memory. I call it opportunistic memory loss.

But you know, I have to hand it to the GOP. It's a damn good strategy. Spend a shit load of money and drive the government bankrupt and then count on American's short term memory, so you can then blame it on the Democrats. Great idea. Let's see if it works against a Dem President who has enough intelligence to understand the game and enough communications skill to explain reality to Americans and fight back against GOP lunacy.
