Donatelli has been named Vice President, New Business Development. As the leader of one of EMC's four key strategic organizations, Donatelli will be responsible for identifying new market opportunities, mergers and acquisitions, EMC's Internet Solutions business unit, and integrating new technologies and services into EMC's industry-leading portfolio of enterprise storage solutions.
EMC is recognized as a time-to-market leader in delivering new technology to customers. A key factor is the New Business Development organization's role in investing in companies developing new and emerging technologies with the potential to provide EMC's customers with improved ways to store, manage and protect their growing information repositories. Donatelli, a 12-year EMC veteran, has served in a number of senior management positions, most recently as Vice President and General Manager, EMC Data Manager (EDM) group. In his new role, Donatelli reports to Michael C. Ruettgers, EMC's President and CEO.

Since joining EMC in July of 1987, Donatelli has held key management positions in virtually every area of EMC. He served as the company's initial Vice President of Enterprise Alliances, developing and managing EMC's relationships with the world's leading software companies. Prior to that, Donatelli, as Vice President, developed EMC's open systems marketing program, helping propel EMC into the number one position in the open storage systems market in less than two years. He also served in a number of product management, marketing, customer service and operations roles in EMC's former mainframe and midrange divisions. He is a graduate of Boston College and received an MBA from Northwestern University's Kellogg School of Management.
