Ayn Rand (Anne Rosenbaum) believed elitist corporations and businessmen should control our country. She was a rightwing industrialist type who glorified the idea of an elite master class even though her own people were persecuted by the Nazis who had similar values. She was ashamed of being Jewish so she changed her name and posed behind a mask.

In any case, Rand/Rosenbaum was a power junkie egotist elitist who worshipped power but was dead wrong about America. Every time industry or the elite have controlled America it has led to our deepest downfall. Like The Great Depression, The Vietnam era, McCarthyism or what's going to happen after Bush-Cheney get through with us.

But every time democracy has triumphed and liberal values have flourished we have succeeded beyond our wildest dreams.
Government for the people by the people, this land is our land not their land. Remember those two mottos because they are very true and bring out the best in this country.

If the rightwing hadn't murdered JFK and RFK, who knows what we might have been achieved. The Cold War could have ended 20 years ahead of time. The Vietnam War would not have been any big deal. We could have kept JFK's surplus-giving economy going for decades and been off Arab oil back in the 80's. And it all would have been fair and good for everyone, not just the few greedy elitist white collar crooks at the top.
