My feeling is it would be beneficial no matter what kind of trading you are doing. Besides giving you a good lesson on daytrading techniques, it clues you in to many facets of the market that you may not be aware of. Just gaining that kind of knowledge can help put things in better perspectives as you plan your positions. While I'm not related to Elite or the author in any way, I find the cost to be so nominal as to make the decision a no-brainer. Knowledge is power in any event, so I can't see how you can go wrong.
