Captain Jack, RE:" Gateway (NYSE:GTW - news) is the big winner, popping $7.50 per share to $70.38. The No. 2 maker of personal computers earned $0.56 per share for the second quarter, beating the average estimate by a penny. A number of brokerages then upgraded the shares. Compaq Computer (NYSE:CPQ - news) shed $0.31 to $24.69. The company announced that it is promoting chief operating officer Michael Capellas to fill its CEO vacancy"... ----- Gateway increased margins by selling more to businesses. Compaq, on the other hand, got dirty selling in the low end.
