Newt kind of ripped him to shreds. But Newt missed the best line in the interview, when Matthews said:

"We've got people who came into the office who actually earned it in terms of deep thought about what the office meant historically"

I blew Dr Pepper out of my nose when I heard that.

Really, Matthews? You think this nitwit Obama actually "earned it" in terms of "deep thought"?

How absurd. Obama is far and away the most shallow individual to occupy that office in my lifetime. That's worse than Carter. Obama had never even given it a moment's thought until after his speech in '04. And even 3.5 years in he doesn't have a fucking clue what to do.

That was a damned joke. I cannot believe Newt didn't shove THAT one down Matthews throat.
