OFF TOPIC:

Management is very top-down at Boeing from what I have heard from employees who work there.

Management does not consult with employees. Often employees do not know what will happen to them. A recent example was when Boeing spun off its training unit to another company. The employees were not warned in advance that management planned to do this.

Out of the blue Boeing announced that the employees could go to new company or maybe stay at Boeing. If they went to new company they also lost their pension benefits. Many of the folks involved were very bitter.

Projects were also disrupted because of the unexpected announcement by Boeing management.

I do not work at Boeing and neither does the person I live with but we believe Boeing handled that situation very badly.

It's always a fuzzy feeling in the background but I have never heard that Boeing's management was particularly good.

Even when the New York Times published an article on Boeing in 1997, it seemed to me, that the article left doubts in the reader's mind about the quality of Boeing management as well as Boeing's future.

Personally, I'd fire top management if it came to a vote by shareholders---even though the company used a computer to design 737.

The company's profit margins are not that good. Although Boeing has survived, I hate to think about the quality of those companies that could not make it.

I am glad that we agree on Merck though!
