Ghana mining lobby worried about proposed energy price rises
Accra, March 31 (BridgeNews) - Members of the Ghana Chamber of Mines have
expressed concern about proposed government increases in electricity tariffs
saying the intended increases would plunge the mining industry into
considerable difficulties. A Ghana Broadcasting Corporation (GBC) radio report
Friday said the President of the Ghana Chamber of Mines, James Kwamena Anaman,
and other executive members of the Chamber told President Kufuor during a
courtesy call, that mining companies may not survive proposed hikes in
electricity tariffs.
