Here's a GenomeWeb article on building your own proteomics company. While none of us are likely to do this, the implications for trickle companies are clear. I've said repeatedly recently that proteomics-related products are not feeling any kind of slowdown. Bets on leading suppliers of these products are likely to be good bets. So which ones? Read for clues.

Rick's note that BCOR faces competition is confirmed, and it's coming from HTS, a private oufit in Mass. Also, WAT's emphasis on LC/MS (MicroMass) and quality analytical software seems to be paying. td likes WAT stuff, and so do the two researchers I've personally talked to recently (one an analytical chemist who actually uses it).

If I were going to "overweight" a Trickle company, WAT below $45 would be a strong candidate.

Cheers, Tuck
