Eating is not all dogs do in Paris restaurants. Also, as a veteran of many miles on French sidewalks, I can report that many, if not most, dog owners do not scoop. Nice is particularly horrible in this respect.

I owe one of the great laughs of my life to an enormous "sleeping" dog and a "curious" cat in an outdoor cafe in Bruge, Belgium.
