I get it. The BCOA contract is separate from the anthracite contract. But the same thing applies, the operators - when there were any - paid a royalty to the union on coal produced. The union still pays the pensions directly. Course if the industry dies, they may run out of money. No companies had the power to cut pensions on their own, the pension isn't in their hands.

You know, if Obama can kill the bituminous coal industry, maybe someday the bcoa pensioners can be without a pension too.
