Orlando is maybe still cheaper than Sydney for property at the moment. Sydney median price is $US400,000. But of course anything within 10-15km of the Pacific Coast is much more. Very unequal distribution of property prices. Otherwise it is probably about equal now, some things more expensive there and some here (food). But I don't think there is any comparison really. Sydney is like Santa Monica, La Jolla, San Francisco and Boston all rolled into one. I mention Boston because of the long coast line, but even that doesn't compare to Sydney. There is just so much coast and hills with views of the water.

I went to a workshop. First we went to Little Saint Simon's Island. We booked up the whole island (only like 15-20 beds anyway). It was 2 nights or 3 days or something. That way it was like $150 per person per night rather than $500 (more now). Then back to Gainesville. Then we spent a day at our host's house at Cedar Key. The other time my girlfriend of the time went to a conference in Tampa and so I just came along for the trip... We stayed in Sarasota.

My Swedish friend was really excited by Walmart when she visited here in December. She was buying left right and center. I tried to tell her it was a crap store, but she would have none of that :) She could get videogames for her kids for like a 1/3 of the price. Stuff like that.
