I could sum up our problem by pointing out we have never successfully waged or successfully defended ourselves against a non Kinetic war.

As to waging one, the example I will use is Eastern Europe after WWII. We talked the talk with Radio Free Europe and sent spies in to help. Hungary was the classic example in 56. They overthrew their Soviet masters and ran them out of the country. They did it because we were encouraging them to do so. The Soviets sat back and waited to see if we would help the Hungarians. If we had,it would have broken the Soviet's hold on Eastern Europe then. Ike turned out to be all hat and no cattle and the Soviets moved back in. As to our spy operation, the Brit's Soviet spies turned ours over to Russia every time they showed up.

As to the Islamic war we have been engaged in since 911 we have done just about everything wrong we could think of. Instead of reducing our sea of possible Islamic Jihadists before they could turn Zombie and attack us here we have increased the numbers of Muslims allowed in the country while wasting time and money fighting them overseas.

What we need to set up is a "media free Iran" program helping the people to be able to organize and defeat their slave masters. We don't need to bomb or occupy them.
