Article in Globe and Mail I am summarizing: According to an article in the Toronto Globe and Mail the Ford/Ballard car will look like the Taurus only it will be 40% lighter. Weight will be trimmed by replacing many of the steel body parts with aluminum or other light body materials. The project will be part of the U.S govt and car industies Partnership for a New Car Generation (PNGV) program. One of the goals of the program is for the car to cost the same as current cars. This will be the biggest challange. Ron Sims a technical specialist from Ford said fuel cell technology has come farther in the past five years than electric vehicle technology has come in 30 years. The deal should alleviate any concerns among other auto makers that Ballard is a captive supplier of Daimler Benz. Sorry I don't have a URL for the story
