Well-after a year you are so enchanted with this little person you created you decide it was worth it. I don't believe I have ever looked at my boys and thought-"uck-if I'd known this was what I was getting, I wouldn't have gone through all that mess." Dan and I have often said that had we known how much fun this was going to be, we'd have had several more-they're worth every contraction and every sleepless night. And speaking of babies and sleeping: I had a really bizarre dream last night. Someone brought a baby girl over and we were watching her. She was sitting on the floor and her head started growing and her mouth got all big-like a gargoyle- and she began retching as if she had a hairball and then out popped another baby exactly like her and it sat there and began doing the same thing... it was like a grotesque set of nesting dolls. These babies kept popping out, getting smaller and smaller across the living room. And I turned to the baby's mother and said,'I enjoy hot tea in the desert," and everyone nodded as if it made perfect sense. If anyone can make anything out of that, I'd be impressed.
