I wish I had been on hand to see it, actually, it is such a preposterous idea....Both of my parents were Washingtonians, so we used to picnic and paddle boat over there, or watch fireworks from the Jefferson Memorial on the other side. We also used to go to Navy band concerts at the Watergate. The band would be on a barge, and the audience would sit on the stone steps leading down from the Lincoln Memorial to the Potomac. On a good night, quite lovely....
