You know, one reason I hope Tim does start his thread is that it will be interesting to see whether certain posters, most notably E, jla, and Laz, but others, actually are capable of intelligent and rational discussion when I'm involved but they aren't allowed to flame the thread. As far as this thread is concerned, they're totally incapable of it. My guess, frankly, is that they aren't. But it will be valuable to have that proved.
And if they stay away, the thread might attract back the good posters who were her during the interlude and provide some valuable and interesting discussions. Which is that I think Tim is hoping for.
I'm wondering at this point how many people are PMing Tim trying to get him not to do it. Because if I'm in favor of it, it must be bad.
