i wouldnt count wetherell out of the running just yet,nor would i underestimate him for one single minute.. i am of the opinion that this might be a "good learning experience for barry" rather than vice versa.
Diler maybe percieved as older, wiser, more skilled at negotiations(as beautifully ehibited w davis in this deal) and with a longer track record than wetherell BUT not in regard to the internet venue and that is all is what he plans on undertaking..

Wetherell, said to be "vacationing" at the moment and unavailable for comment...doubt it very much as alluded to on cnbc early yesterday morning...maybe i am deluding myself, but cant imagine Wetherell's just been winging it from the beginning.. he knew terms of the deal PRIOR to the signing of it..yes he was ultimately unhappy and stepped down etc... but he knew going into it ,including the possibility that the stock might drop like a rock which it did, what all the potential
machinations on the part of Diller might be based on the terms of the deal...I dont believe he's just been going with the flow and RANDOMLY REACTING to things as they come up...he's got his own game plan which may APPEAR to be haphazzard and defensive moves but i think quite the contrary...Again, if you want to compare it all to a learning experience..Diller just might turn out to be the pupil.

p.s. fyi: am long on both cmgi and lcos
