It wasn't a secret that he had back pain and use heavy pain medications. It was just accepted.

The difference is that she wasn't negotiating with the soviet block when she was addicted, the same can't be said for Kennedy. There's many who would argue that it's one of the reasons we ended up in the Cuban Missile crisis. I don't think anyone would disagree that the time for being messed up on drugs isn't when you're negotiating with the fricken Russians.....<g>
