This is so funny-----about ten years ago I replaced the roof on a house. Because of the location on a hill the house would get very cold in the winter-----it had a light grey roof.

I consulted with all of the books, the roofers, and came up with first putting a really dark roof on the house to make it warmer in the winter and to cut down on the expense of electrictiy and natural gas.

I came up with a beautiful natural forest green color. Not light and not too dark. The company stripped and replaced the bad plywood and old shingles-----and put on this beautiful roof. The next several winters the house was warmer---utility cost reduced.

There is a problem with light colors on houses-----white like yellow is glaring and reflects back onto the enviroment-----killing bushes and plants near the house------unless you want to plant cactii.
