Sorry if you feel you have been insulted in any way, it was not my intention. I know you guys have a history, but I don't know what it is, and I probably don't care, really, hope that doesn't offend you, either.
Self promotion is essential in some things, I agree. By self promotion I assume you mean, putting yourself forward, drawing attention to yourself, in the hope of attracting favor in some way, maybe in business, maybe as an artist, or maybe as a lover. But when a surgeon operates on a patient, I wouldn't call that self promotion. And when a couple of philosophers bat an idea around, I wouldn't call that self promotion, either. And when I wash the dishes, that's not self promotion. One's self isn't what matters in situations like that. I like the feeling of objectivity, personally. I like listening to other people's stories, too.
People don't realize how much of themselves they reveal in seemingly trivial matters. |
