Don't forget at publically traded co's execs get paid a significant part of their compensation in stock, presumeably to incent their performance, and hence the peroformance of the company and the stock. Every year, execs sell a chunk of stock in order to pay the bills. It happened last year, the year before that, the year before that, etc. It will happend next year, as well.
