soup,

I wonder if MSFT can avoid writing to the new OS without risking
anti-trust violations. MSFT may find itself in a real dilemma because
if they port to the Apple OS that competes directly with them on their
home turf (intel), they may be hurting their OS sales. If
they do a bad job porting their S/W then they may get the best of
both worlds - having adequate competition yet not elevating Apple's OS
since they have the "good" apps running on windows.

I know I did not answer your question -- don't know the answer.

It was stated that Jobs will be a part-time consultant. Part time
could be a few hours per year. Even if this turns out to be the case,
it was a very wise move by Apple to have him on board - look at all
the free publicity. I think he will attend a few highly visible events,
generate lots of enthusiasm and slow fade away. What is his motivation
to spend his time consulting for Apple when he has PIXAR - a company
that he controls and has a major equity investment?
