Comes down to distinguishing 'investment demand' from 'speculation demand', and only the demander/s can know which is which, also they may change their minds at any given moment ... if the chinese stocking up on something guaranteed it a superior return, then we should all be buying $usd -g-

Veneroso got copper very very right in the eighties, made big money and established his name much firmer than it had been before ... some of his calls on gold have not worked out in recent years, maybe others have, he was right on copper last year, gotta give him that, so while he's one voice of many i find him worth listening to ... base metals are going to need strong and broad and sustained indications of economic upturn to get very far from here, imho
