devils advocate position on "supply request system" testing

I agree with everyone else that it is a good idea to test as many systems as possible and not just concentrate on a few. But no one here has mentioned the obvious reason why supply request systems would be targeted for testing.

A supply request system needs to know that Sgt. Snorkel needs 100 rolls of toilet paper on August 2nd with Beetle Baily needs a new mop on August 5th. Dates must be an integral part of this system.

There is no real need to incorporate dates into most other systems. (Where's the date in a radar jamming or missile trajectory system?)
