Morpher: Let's look at the state of online trading/investing today: Online Data Feeds(non browser ) - mostly good but unreliable at peek times Online Brokers/Execution Systems(browser based) - mostly unreliable but getting better. Online Brokers/Execution systems(non browser) - very new, but very reliable with few exceptions. Online News/Charts (browser based) - excellent content - not as fast as professional services. Online News/Charts(non borwser based) - excellent content - very reliable Online Research(browser based) - excellent and getting better. The price competiton for commissions, and number of services is increasing on all fronts. The speed at which data is supplied, and the options for receiving data are increasing all the time. Conclusions: Within a year you will have completely reliable investing/trading services available via the internet; making it affordable for anyone to invest/trade from home or anywhere in the world. Whether it is appropriate for each individual will be a personal decision. Personally I will always have a full service broker/trader such as Steve as a back to my online systems. I think this just makes sense.
